Job summary

Astemo Bolton is seeking a Quality Technician to strengthen our Bolton production plant. You will work in cross-functional teams to analyse returns, conduct function tests, and ensure product reliability, contributing to our automotive and mobility solutions.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, CMM programming, and hands-on testing experience in a manufacturing environment. You will document results, maintain test equipment SOPs, and support production on ad hoc containment activities.

Qualifications

• ONC level or higher engineering education.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience using CMMs.
• Knowledge of GD&T and testing instrument operation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse returns and identify defects and causes.
• Perform function tests and measurements on products.
• Test product reliability per customer needs and timescales.
• Produce clear reports with analysis results and conclusions.

Quality Technician to strengthen our Bolton production plant.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Analyse Returns: Perform analysis of products returned from customers/field, identify defect and cause.
• Function Test and Measurement: Perform function test and measurement on new/re-designed and existing products as required.
• Product Reliability: Test product reliability, according to customer needs and timescales.
• Reporting: Produce clear and accurate reports for testing/investigation/measurement and analysis results and conclusions with the use of analytical methods if required.
• Equipment Inspection/Repair: Inspect equipment regularly and perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Documentation: Maintain basic procedures and SOP’s for test equipment. Support Customer and Supplier PPAP submissions.
• Supporting Production: Support production department on ad hoc duties as and when required. For example, if there is a requirement for containment activities

Profile and Qualifications:

• In depth knowledge of GD&T along with CMM programming skill, operation of test stands and functional knowledge of automotive parts.
• Report writing skills, communication skills, fault finding skills i.e. the ability to identify the basic causes of faults.
• ONC level or further education in Engineering field.
• PC literate. (Word/Excel)
• At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment programming and using CMM’s

Salary : £35-38,000 gross annually
