Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to ensure all customer QA requirements are met and to handle returns and customer complaints.

You will interface with customers on quality issues, support QA technicians, generate test instructions, and drive improvements in QA performance within a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools such as APQP, control plans, FMEA, SPC, R&R, internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Primary interface to Customer on all Quality Issues.
• Control of Line and Warranty Returns per customer requirements and implement countermeasures.
• Monitor and report Quality KPI measures for your section and drive QA improvements.
• Support QA Technicians with product investigations and use of relevant equipment.
• Generate detailed Quality and Test Stand Work Instructions and assist Technicians with them.
• Coordinate External and Internal Concession requests with Lead Quality Engineer.
• Conduct audits and manage Supplier quality issues as required.
• Complete documentation supporting Customer QA requirements (ANPQP/APQP/PPAP).
• Analyze process capability data and work with Production Engineering to improve the line.
• Understand and deploy Customer Specific Requirements and Astemo standards.

Scope of Job

• 1 Quality Issues: Primary interface to Customer on all Quality Issues.
• 2 Quality Returns: Control of Line and Warranty Returns in accordance with Customer requirements, ensuring adequate countermeasures are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
• 3 Quality KPI & Reporting: Monitor and report Quality KPI measures for their relevant section and use to drive improvements in QA performance.
• 4 Support QA Technicians: Supporting QA Technicians with product investigations and use of relevant equipment.
• 5 Quality & Work Instructions: Generation of detailed Quality and Test Stand Work Instructions, and support the Technicians in using them.
• 6 Concessions: Control of External and Internal Concession requests, in conjunction with Lead Quality Engineer.
• 7 Supplier Quality: Conduct audits and manage Supplier quality issues as required.
• 8 Customer QA Requirements: Completion of all relevant documentation in support of Customer QA requirements (ANPQP/APQP/PPAP).
• 9 Process Capability: Analysis of process capability data /R&R study data, and working with Production Engineering to improve the production line accordingly.
• 10 Customer and Astemo Requirements: Understand and deploy Customer Specific Requirements and Astemo standards for their products and ensure continual compliance.

Typical Knowledge & Skills

An in depth knowledge of automotive standards and quality techniques and their application, especially IATF 16949 and APQP tools such as control plans, process flow, FMEA, SPC, R&R, internal audit, structured problem solving.

Typical Qualifications And Previous Experience

• HNC / HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
• PC Literate(Word/Excel)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally gained within automotive. We would consider an electronics, high volume manufacturing assembly background.
• Liaison with customers.
