Directorbank are searching for a Quality & Technical Director on behalf of our client based in the Southwest of England. Our client focuses on high quality, precision products for safety-critical applications within the aerospace and defence and wider industrial markets, serving a global customer base.

Role

The business is looking to appoint a Quality & Technical Director who will be responsible for overseeing and transforming the business' quality culture, maintaining the current trajectory of zero external defects, on-time delivery and operational excellence. The Quality & Technical Director will further be responsible for leading a highly talented team with technical credibility and visible shop floor engagement.

Person

We are looking for a strong Quality professional with a strong track record in managing a Quality function in a manufacturing/ engineering business. The ideal candidate will have a background in metallurgy/ materials science/ related as well as significant experience in driving process improvements using lean methodologies. A natural, energetic and driven leader, the successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively across all levels and win hearts and minds.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have:

  • Successfully led quality teams within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical knowledge in metallurgy/ advanced materials
  • Track record in developing and maintaining a strong quality culture and quality KPIs
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with excellent verbal/ written communication skills and the ability to influence and delegate
