The European division is rapidly growing and is a market leader in the manufacture of food coatings, seasonings, and functional ingredient systems. The Ossett site manufactures food coatings systems, dry seasoning blends, bread crumbs, and rusk products. The site is a real success story, and the team consistently delivers significant growth year on year.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Systems Manager. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will be responsible for managing the site Quality Management System documentation and audits to ensure compliance with site, customer, and third-party assurance scheme requirements for Food Safety and Quality. You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement, enhance compliance systems, strengthen quality awareness, and investigate quality issues using process improvement and problem-solving techniques to ensure successful outcomes of Company inspections. You will also manage and facilitate external audits, customer, and third-party reviews, and address non-conformances from audits to identify areas for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for audits and review customer codes of practice, implementing necessary procedures for compliance.
• Develop and maintain all policies and procedures that comprise the Quality Management System to ensure the business meets its and customers' requirements.
• Prepare, maintain, and update the internal audit plan for the Quality Management System, ensuring audits are completed within agreed timescales, and support the internal audit team.
• Manage audit close-out actions to ensure evidence is collected and actions are completed on time.
• Manage customer complaints, including investigations and responses.
• Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Operate the internal audit system and serve as a trained auditor.

Person Specification

• You must have at least 5 years of manufacturing experience and knowledge of relevant food safety legislation, QMS, BRC standards, and auditing.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Degree in food science or a related field.
• Strong influencing skills with the ability to coach and mentor at all levels.
• Knowledge of M&S codes of practice.
• Experience in a senior or supervisory quality role.
