Job summary

QMS Engineer (AS9100/EN9100) contract based in Cambridge, inside IR35, initially 6 months. The role focuses on developing, implementing and certifying a fully compliant AS9100/EN9100 QMS within a greenfield manufacturing site.

The ideal candidate has led complete QMS implementation projects in regulated manufacturing and can drive certification with minimal supervision. This is a senior quality position in a rapidly growing technology and manufacturing startup aiming for AS9100 accreditation

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a full AS9100/EN9100 or ISO 9001 QMS implementation.
• Strong background within aerospace, defence, automotive, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience preparing businesses for external certification and accreditation audits.
• Ability to work independently and deliver with minimal supervision.
• Practical experience with audits, CAPA, root cause analysis, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Previous experience within a startup, scale-up, or greenfield manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
• Lead Auditor qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.

Cambridge/ 6-Month Initial Contract/ Inside IR35

A rapidly growing technology and manufacturing start-up is seeking an experienced QMS Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and certification of a fully compliant AS9100/EN9100 Quality Management System. This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative business at a critical stage of its growth journey. Operating from a greenfield manufacturing site in Cambridge, the organisation is working towards a key AS9100 accreditation milestone that will support its ability to scale and expand commercially. The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving certification, embedding quality standards across the organisation, and laying the foundations for future growth.

We are looking for a senior quality professional who has successfully led a complete QMS implementation and accreditation programme before. They need someone who can take ownership, influence stakeholders across the business, and drive the project through to successful completion.

Key Requirements
