Job Description

QA/Quality Support Engineer – Luton

First Achieve are looking for an experienced QA/Quality Support Engineer to join our client's team in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can interpret customer and technical specifications, design codes, and develop detailed ITPs (quality plans) and procedures. A strong understanding of material certification and material standards is essential.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring product compliance with quality standards, supporting manufacturing processes, and resolving quality-related issues. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to monitor inspection and test plans, verify material certifications, and drive continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse enquiry documents and prepare QA/QC documentation for quotations.
  • Review purchase documentation to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, including tracking approval records.
  • Oversee contract quality plans and manage CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
  • Verify material certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor subcontractor deliveries, ensuring adherence to requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain weld and welder qualifications as required.
  • Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in supplier, internal, and external QA audits.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.
  • Background in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • UK passport holder (dual nationality accepted, but primary nationality must be British due to nature of projects/security).
  • Knowledge of PCN/SNT certification standards.
  • Experience developing ITPs, quality plans, and procedures.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
