Job summary

Irwin and Colton in Cheltenham is seeking a Quality Support Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation. The role is hands‑on, supporting quality operations across production, engineering and supply chain to identify issues and implement lasting solutions.

You will work to reduce Cost of Poor Quality and Defective Parts Per Million through root cause analysis and corrective actions, while assisting with customer returns, non‑conformances, audits and inspections.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment supporting quality functions.
• Strong knowledge of quality methodologies such as root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys).
• Competence in metrology and use of precision measurement tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in ERP systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold quality systems to ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.
• Assist with root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and process validations to ensure product and process integrity.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams on quality concerns.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through training and awareness activities.

We are seeking a Quality Support Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation in Cheltenham. This hands‑on role will support quality operations, working closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to identify issues and implement lasting solutions.

You’ll play a key role in reducing Cost of Poor Quality and Defective Parts Per Million through root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement. You’ll also support customer returns, non‑conformances, audits, inspections and dimensional reporting.
