An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Quality Supervisor to join the team at our Wembley site.

Job Purpose:

Monitor the safety, legality and quality of all the products produced by the factory ensuring all agreed specifications and standards are met.

Main Duties:

  • To lead and motivate the QATs team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems and factory practices to ensure agreed standards of quality and food safety are achieved.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager in the maintenance of factory-based paperwork.
  • Maintenance of all quality records. Control the issuing, collection and filing away of all factory & QA paperwork
  • Monitor quality systems on factory floor and carry out quality checks as necessary.
  • Be the first point of contact with the QAT’s in dealing with day-to-day raw material and quality issues with production and report to the Quality Manager
  • Manage and organise the allocation of workload, weekly rota within the QAT’s team.
  • Issuing out Work Schedules to QAT’s and monitor to make sure they are completed on timely manner.
  • Monitor samples and swabs are logged correctly on the lab system.
  • Laise with lab regarding samples and swabs enquires be the first point of contact.
  • Monitor all microbiological testing – both the schedules and results. Ensure any deviations are recorded, reported and acted accordingly.
  • Assist with resolution of any microbiological or hygiene non – compliance in the factory.
  • Carry out investigative swabs to monitor hygiene standards and investigate out of specification results.
  • Co-ordinate the collection and distribution of standard product samples.
  • Monitoring of Controlled documents on factory floor and making sure that it is collected and filed away in orderly fashion by QAT’s from respective circuits on daily basis.
  • Update documents where required - following new launches and any changes in the company QMS Procedure and policies.
  • Carry out corrective action following internal or external non-conformances, or out of specification micro results and assist in the investigation and response of customer complaints.
  • Responsible for carrying out a Quality Control circuit as required in absence of QAT’s.
  • Assist in any 3rd Party and retailer / customer / Local Authority audits as required.
  • Manage effective communications internally with all departments to ensure all the technical needs are met.
  • Manage effective communications externally with supplier where required to ensure all the technical needs are met.
  • Sign out all the schedule once completed weekly and monthly and handover to Quality Manager.
  • Sign out Factory Non-conformance and Foreign body forms completed by QAT’s.
  • Raising Supplier non conformance for the non-conforming products and packaging received also assist QAT’s when required.
  • Responsible Concession & Hold release tracker to make items are logged correctly.
  • Responsible Calibration Tracker and arrange items to send for calibration as required.
  • Organise Validations, write reports for the audits and validation carried out and assist to other QATs when required.
  • Carry out Investigations and briefings for the QAT’s for the day-to-day work not completed or to close any nonconformance.
  • Carry out any project work as required within the department.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • Basic Induction Training
  • Basic Food Hygiene Training as appropriate.
  • Basic Health & Safety Training as appropriate.
  • Good understanding of English, both written and verbal
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and colleagues within a multicultural workforce
  • Good numerical, organisational and record keeping skills
  • Able to work quickly and methodically and maintain a high level of concentration at all times.
  • Able to follow instruction and show initiative where needed.
  • Quick Learner and mechanically minded.
  • Flexible and positive attitude towards work.
  • Physically fit to carry out duties involving lifting, carrying, twisting, bending, stretching, reaching etc.
  • Any other training specific to job description.
  • Computer Skill, Word, Excel & Outlook.
