Purpose and Scope

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality, operating expenses, schedule adherence, inventory, throughput measures, and all legal and safety issues related to their assigned areas. They will coordinate activities, lead and supervise employees to meet objectives, and promote change, innovation, and continuous improvement among staff.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and train employees on inspection and gauging techniques.
  2. Ensure accountability for quality, operating expenses, schedule achievement, inventory, and throughput.
  3. Facilitate resolution of customer and supplier quality issues both internally and externally in collaboration with other Timken personnel.
  4. Lead investigations into supplier quality and customer complaints, implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Recommend improvements to existing procedures and practices.
  6. Motivate and lead quality employees in continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Lead by example to foster a safe, clean environment that enables employees to perform at their best.
  8. Maintain open communication through daily discussions and meetings, being accessible to employees.
  9. Coach and develop employees to reach their full potential and take charge of their personal development.
  10. Handle regulated waste disposal in accordance with federal and state regulations, if applicable.
Technical/Functional Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent team and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in supplier management, measurement, and acceptance of incoming and manufactured items.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of AMS specifications.
  • Effective communication in motivation, development, continuous improvement, assessment, and recognition.
  • Highly organized and process-oriented.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience in manufacturing (preferred).
  • US Citizenship or Green Card holder.
