Job summary

MDE Consultants Ltd is seeking a Quality Manager for a large utility-scale Solar PV site. The freelance role demands hands-on QA/QC leadership across civil, mechanical and electrical works on site.

A strong background in construction quality, ISO 9001 and ITP/NCR processes is essential, with experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with HSE teams. 6 days per week on site for 6–9 months.

Qualifications

• Strong QA or QC experience within construction.
• Solar PV experience on utility-scale projects preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Experience managing ITPs and NCRs.
• Experience managing subcontractors on site.
• Understanding of civil, mechanical and electrical installation quality.
• CSCS card.
• Relevant engineering, construction or quality qualification preferred.
• Available for a site based role working 6 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead site quality activities across Solar PV construction works
• Manage ITPs, inspections, hold points and quality records
• Raise, manage and close NCRs
• Monitor subcontractor workmanship and quality performance
• Verify materials, installation records and test documentation
• Manage snagging, punch lists and corrective actions
• Support commissioning and project handover
• Maintain quality documentation and reporting
• Work closely with site management, engineering and HSE teams

Up to £450 per day + 6 to 9 Month Contract + 6 Days per Week + Site Based

We are recruiting an experienced Quality Manager to lead QA and QC across a large utility scale Solar PV construction project.

This is a site based freelance role for someone with strong renewable energy construction experience who is comfortable managing quality across civil, mechanical and electrical works.
