Job Description:

Quality Manager – Food Manufacturing

1-Stage Interview Process

We’re partnering with a well-established food manufacturer that’s leading the way in its category. With two sites currently in operation, the site has recently had a huge investment — with a planned addition of two new production lines and loads of exciting new product launches — this is a fantastic time to join the business.

As the Factory Quality Manager, you’ll be taking the reins of a quality function at a site that supplies to major UK retailers. You’ll lead a team of 8 QAs and play a key role in upholding and enhancing site standards as the company continues to grow.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and coaching the QA team, promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across the site.
  • Ensuring all products meet specification and are manufactured to the highest standards of food safety, legality, and quality.
  • Managing non-conformance, complaints, and root cause investigations — implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Supporting NPD launches, ensuring new products are introduced effectively and safely onto the factory floor.
  • Overseeing GMP, hygiene verification, and internal audit activity, while contributing to HACCP and site improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as a key support to the Site Technical Manager, including deputising when required.
  • Championing best practice in documentation, training, and continuous improvement projects.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 18 months’ experience in a quality or technical leadership role in food manufacturing.
  • Ideally, experience working with retailers and BRCGS audits.
  • Someone who’s switched-on, open-minded, and solutions-focused.
  • A natural team player — positive, supportive, and easy to get along with.

What’s on offer:

  • One-stage interview process – quick and straightforward.

Job Security – there are only 2 other manufacturers that do what they do. One is at full capacity and the other is struggling to meet the retailers criteria regularly. The site is also really well invested and offers the chance to work with state-of-the-art equipment.

Promotion – the QSM is currently covering for the Technical Manager – so lots of internal training and opportunities to step up.

Category change – they are only looking for someone with quality management and food manufacturing experience providing the chance to gain experience in a new category.

Gain retailer experience – previous experience working with retailers isn’t a must, so offers the chance to gain this experience working with the likes of M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi etc.

Grown up work culture – majority of the team have children, so understand the need to leave for the school run or attend that all important sports day or doctors’ appointment.

Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
