Job Description:

This is a senior, project-based position. You will be responsible for leading quality assurance across a major heavy civil engineering project. You will report into the Construction Manager and hold line management of a Quality Engineer.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System which includes the monitoring, maintenance and improvement of policies, plans, procedures and associated documentation. You will be overseeing assurance of supply chain, both subcontractors and manufacturers.

The position will be based mainly in the project office (EC3M), with requirement to spend one to two days a week on site (Essex).

This is a long-term project which will take you through to 2029.

Key areas of responsibility:

-Develop and implement the Quality Management Systems on site, and maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification

-Understand the Policies, Processes, Works Information, statutory requirements and ensure that the set requirements are adopted and effectively implemented on the project

-Work collaboratively with the team in the production of specific Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and procedures

-Monitor and measure quality assurance activities to ensure that it complies with the Works Information and aligned with HS’s Quality requirements

-Report on the performance of the management system, on quality KPIs and ensure good record keeping

-Ensure that the Supply Chain have develop their Quality Plan, ITP’s and procedures for review, acceptance and implementation in compliance with the Works Information and the scope of works

-Design and Implement an Audit Program and Surveillance Program for site activities

-Coordinate Non-Conformance Reporting process

-Work with the Supply Chain and Delivery Team across the production of assurance records, certification packages and submissions, and support the technical design assurance process

-Ensure all site documents are generated, reviewed and approved for the close out and handover

-Promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement

-Develop and provide quality related coaching, induction and training to the site team

To be successful in this post, you will:

-Ideally be educated to degree level in a construction related subject, such as civil engineering

-Be a Chartered member of CQI or equivalent body, although this is not essential

-Hold demonstrable experience of working on large CIVIL ENGINEERING projects (200M+ in value ideally)

In return, you will be offered a salary of 70,000 - 80,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which includes a car or travel allowance, 5% pension, 25 days holiday, Private Medical Insurance etc.
