We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Quality Manager who can lead and monitor quality aspects within the rapidly expanding Hertfordshire and West Essex (HWE) Blood Sciences service at Health Service Laboratories (HSL).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team during department transformation with 3 different hospital trusts.
The location for the role will begin at Hemel Hempstead Hospital laboratory and transfer to the new HWE Hub in Croxley Park when it opens.
The post holder will have postgraduate qualifications in Biomedical or Life Sciences and significant experience as a quality lead in a Blood Sciences laboratory, including UKAS accreditation and HTA Inspections. Good organisational and communication skills are essential.
Main duties include administration, monitoring & implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing quality & compliance activities, QMS training across the group, and assisting in organising and chairing departmental Quality Management Group meetings.
Administer and monitor the QMS within the laboratories, oversee local quality activities in accordance with accreditation/regulatory bodies (e.g., UKAS, MHRA, GXP), and ensure compliance through documentation, audits, and incident management.
Responsibilities include maintaining the quality manual, ensuring document control, responding to inquiries, supporting staff training, and participating in continuous improvement activities. The role also involves monitoring compliance levels, supporting harmonisation of processes, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
This role requires a DBS check due to the nature of the work.
Salary up to £56,000 DOE, inclusive of HCA.
