Quality Manager – Aerospace & Engineering

Maidenhead | Permanent, Full-Time | £50,000+ DOE

Actio Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of an industry-leading precision engineering business at the forefront of the aerospace, motorsport, and automotiveinnovation sectors. Our client is now seeking a Quality Manager to lead and continuously develop their Quality function, ensuring compliance with key aerospace standards and the delivery of world-class, high-integrity components to a global customer base.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Quality professional to step into a strategic, leadership-level role within a growing and progressive organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Compliance

  • Lead quality function inline with AS9100D, ISO9001, and other relevant aerospace standards.
  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System
  • Provide guidance and leadership to quality engineers and inspectors.

Audit Management & Certification

  • Plan and lead all internal and external audits.
  • Oversee the AS9100D certification process.
  • Report on quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives at Management Review Meetings.

Product & Process Quality

  • Approve First Article Inspections (FAI) in line with AS9102 standards.
  • Manage MRB processes, resolve non-conformances, and lead structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, RCA).

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Serve as the primary quality contact for key aerospace and high-performance clients.
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives, audits, and performance

Continuous Improvement & NPI

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Drive initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality
  • Support FMEA, control plans, and standardisation of quality procedures.

Quality Systems & Documentation

  • Ensure all QMS documentation, records, and procedures are compliant, current, and audit-ready.
  • Manage the interface between the QMS and business
  • Develop and maintain quality dashboards and reporting for leadership visibility.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in a Quality leadership role within an aerospace-approved environment.
  • Deep understanding of AS9100D, ISO9001, and ISO14001 compliance.
  • Proven track record in leading external audits and managing certification processes.
  • Strong grasp of FAI (AS9102), PPAP, and aerospace special process controls.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and complex tolerances.
  • Skilled in structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, CAPA, RCA).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Quality or similar.
  • Certified Lead Auditor (AS9100D preferred).
  • Experience with NADCAP requirements and special processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement strategies.
