A prominent UK university is seeking a Quality Manager to enhance the student journey by managing core quality assurance processes. This role requires an autonomous decision maker with strong communication skills and experience in higher education, although prior experience is not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to ensure effective service delivery. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable but not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Quality and Regulation team, which sits under the directorate for Strategic Planning and Student Administration (SPSA). The team is at the forefront of supporting and enhancing the student journey through the University and manages the institution's core quality assurance and enhancement processes and activities.
The Quality Manager supports all areas of the team's work by providing highly effective and accurate decision making, advice and guidance for the University as directed by the Quality and Regulation Manager and Head of Quality. This varied role requires the post holder to support all areas of operation including course development and approval, academic regulation guidance, and the effective operation of the University's student procedures (including the Student Complaints Procedure, the Fitness to Study procedure, the Student Disciplinary Procedure, the Suitability for Practice Procedure and the Anti-Harassment & Anti-Bullying Policy Procedure).
The role plays a key part in quality assurance and standards and, as such, key amongst the attributes are: autonomous decision maker, being a creative and confident thinker; personal dynamism and innovative approach; and ability to adopt a flexible and positive approach. They will be able to plan and organise their own work, use initiative, contribute ideas for process improvement, and demonstrate a flexible approach ensuring effective service delivery outcomes. They will have experience of acting in an advisory capacity related to higher education, minute taking and report writing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience of working in Higher Education is helpful but not essential.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
