Job summary

ASPLIV is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Deeside manufacturing team. You will work closely with CNC, welding and inspection functions to strengthen processes and ensure products meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.

The successful candidate will drive corrective actions, support the ISO 9001 system and lead improvements across manufacturing. A hands-on, collaborative approach is essential to improving quality performance and reducing defects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, machining or fabrication.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action experience.
  • Exposure to CNC machining, welding, inspection or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
  • Proficient with measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Good understanding of product conformity, process control and calibration.
  • Effective communication across production, engineering, quality and supplier teams.
  • Hands-on approach to solving manufacturing quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support and continually improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Monitor product quality across CNC machining, welding, electropolishing, finishing and inspection activities.
  • Identify quality risks and improvement opportunities to reduce defects, waste, rework and customer complaints.
  • Investigate non-conformances using structured root-cause analysis.
  • Develop, implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain quality records incl. NCRs, inspection data, audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production managers, engineering teams, inspectors and suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Support first-article inspections, process validation, capability studies and inspection planning.
  • Review production data, inspection reports, supplier performance and quality trends.
  • Support welding quality, weld-defect reduction and welder qualification records.
  • Improve CNC machining quality through dimensional control and process capability.
  • Monitor electropolishing and surface-finishing quality and defects.
  • Support inspection plans, calibration control and quality documentation.
  • Participate in audits and ensure findings are closed effectively.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost of poor quality and rework.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing and a right-first-time culture.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a fast-growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Deeside.

Working closely with the CNC Machine Shop, Welding, Electropolishing, Inspection, Engineering and Production teams, you will help strengthen manufacturing processes and ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.

The successful candidate will investigate non-conformances, lead corrective actions, support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and drive practical improvements across the manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Quality Engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, working directly with production teams and making a visible impact on quality performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and continually improve the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Monitor product quality across CNC machining, welding, electropolishing, finishing and inspection activities.
  • Identify quality risks and improvement opportunities to reduce defects, waste, rework and customer complaints.
  • Investigate internal, customer, supplier and process‑related non‑conformances using structured root‑cause analysis.
  • Develop, implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions, ensuring they are completed effectively and on time.
  • Maintain accurate quality records covering NCRs, inspection data, audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production managers, engineering teams, inspectors and suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Support first‑article inspections, process validation, capability studies, production approvals and inspection planning.
  • Review production data, inspection reports, supplier performance, welding documentation and quality trends.
  • Support welding quality, weld‑defect reduction, welder qualification records and competency programmes.
  • Improve CNC machining quality through dimensional control, measurement techniques and process capability.
  • Monitor electropolishing and surface‑finishing quality, investigating defects and improving process consistency.
  • Support inspection plans, calibration control, dimensional inspection and quality documentation.
  • Participate in internal, customer, supplier and certification audits, ensuring findings are closed effectively.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing the cost of poor quality, scrap and rework.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing, structured problem‑solving and a right‑first‑time culture across the business.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, machining or fabrication.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Strong root‑cause analysis, investigation and corrective action experience.
  • Exposure to CNC machining, welding, inspection or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
  • Confident using measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Good understanding of product conformity, process control, calibration and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across production, engineering, quality and supplier teams.
  • A practical, hands‑on approach to solving manufacturing quality issues.
