Location: Tonypandy

Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pm

Coppice is a market-leading and international supplier of food packaging, renowned for innovation, quality and service. As we continue with our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking like-minded individuals to support and enhance our team on an exciting journey.

The Quality Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and improvement of the Company QSE Management System, to ensure that an effective quality service, safety, legality and environmental aspects of the Company exist and is maintained and continuously developed.

You'll be responsible for making changes to the Company Management Systems and for determining that all requirements are met at each stage of the process by liaising effectively with all relevant parties in a troubleshooting and development capacity.

Responsibilities
  • To encompass all areas of quality assurance, Health and Safety, and environmental aspects associated with the waste management operations of the Company.
  • To report on energy, water and oil usage.
  • To advise, consult with and train all relevant parties within the business including suppliers and others, concerning specific requirements in order to maintain accreditations and continually seeking to improve Company performance.
  • To identify and develop management systems and procedures that will assist the site in the management of quality, environmental, and Health and Safety requirements and to implement, periodically audit, and report on these systems, identifying corrective actions if and where necessary. These systems will include the Site Management System Manual, Procedures, Method Statements, Instructions, forms, etc. as appropriate.
  • To assist with the management of customer complaints to solve any related customer problems. To assist in any recall, internally or externally promptly and efficiently. To quarantine any existing stock that may be affected.
  • To assist with the management of Internal Non-Compliances and actions to solve any related Company problems to prevent re-occurrence.
  • To liaise with the Company Managers regarding the effectiveness of the Company Quality System and to maintain quality levels in line with customer expectations or specifications.
  • To be responsible for all personnel on site regarding environmental issues and controls to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • To liaise with customers / suppliers on any specific requests or needs.
  • Liaise with QA team to ensure that product being manufactured according to specification and deviations are actioned immediately.
  • To complete safety inspections on facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.
  • Actively participate in all customer visits and site audits.
  • Complete internal audits and put actions in place for all nonconformities.
  • Liaising with and maintaining the Company's Pest Control System.
  • Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements.
  • Complete Hazard Tags where required.
  • To monitor and develop own skills and those of team members in line with business needs.
  • Performance measurement and management including absence management and individual development.
  • Continuous team and individual learning and development, including training, supporting, and coaching individuals in line with Company People Strategy.
  • Look to support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximise efficiency.
  • To assist in the delivery of the site and wider Company objectives.
  • To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business.
