Job Description

The Quality Manager at IPS is a customer-facing role serving as the first point of contact for customer visits and external audits. The Quality Manager will manage and maintain food safety, legal compliance, and quality of all products produced at IPS, in accordance with IPS QMS, BRC standards, and Customer Codes of Practice.

This is a fixed-term position for a minimum of 9 months.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Duties of a Quality Manager:
  • Adhere to and promote best practices in accordance with company health and safety requirements.
  • Represent the Quality Team within the site Senior Management Team.
  • Effectively manage and motivate the site quality and hygiene teams to achieve commercial, site, and quality objectives within the agreed timelines.
  • Measure site standards across all operations in line with business, customer, and legislative requirements.
  • Review, audit, and challenge factory operations regarding product safety and quality to ensure manufacturing maintains the highest standards in line with the Group Quality Management System.
  • Act as the site HACCP Team Leader, ensuring development and monitoring of the site HACCP system.
  • Manage and conduct Internal Audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. All anomalies are to be reported and closed out.
  • Champion the Food Safety Quality Culture plan and Customer Complaints reduction initiatives, developing and reporting leading measures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to deliver change, improvements, and new products, ensuring food safety and quality while demonstrating business behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the central group technical function to develop, implement, and manage Quality Management and operating procedures, including allergen management, micro management, pest control, and hygiene operations.
  • Use Root Cause Analysis to investigate and act upon non-conformances, audit actions, and customer complaints to minimize future risks.
  • Manage training and development of new starters within the department and provide ongoing training.
  • Undertake other duties as required within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications
  • Experience in FMCG Food Manufacturing.
  • Managing and being accountable for a site QA & Hygiene Team.
  • Ability to work to KPIs and deadlines.
  • Managing Food Safety, Legality, and Quality Systems.
  • HACCP Level 3 or above.
  • Internal Audit Training.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office packages.
  • Strong communication skills to foster an open and collaborative culture.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and represent the Quality Team within the site Management Team.
