Overview

Quality Manager – Precision Engineering

Location: Southend-on-Sea

Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Salary: Competitive, DOE (Depending on Experience)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager to join our client, a highly respected precision engineering company based in Southend-on-Sea. Specialising in the production of very small, high-precision components for sectors including aerospace, automotive (Formula 1), and medical, this is an exciting opportunity to lead quality operations in a cutting-edge environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a small team of 2 quality professionals.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control across production.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Program and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) for precision inspection.
  • Analyse quality data and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues and improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Requirements

Proven experience in a Quality Management role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CMM programming and metrology tools. Excellent leadership and team management skills. In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
