Job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within our organisation, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. We are an advanced composite manufacturing company operating within the aerospace, defence and motorsport industries producing components and structures from carbon fibre. Please note, you must be a UK national to apply for this roles due to the requirements of our customers and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures for composite manufacturing processes.
  • Ensuring that composite materials and products meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
  • Implementing corrective and preventative actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Overseeing and undertaking all aspects of the NCR process.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identifying areas for improvement in quality processes and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilising quality tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Leading and mentoring the quality team and wider business in quality requirements.
  • Providing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the quality department.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicating quality issues and concerns to relevant stakeholders, including management, production, and customers.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the business.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensuring that the company complies with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO AS9100.
  • Implementing ISO 14001 environmental systems.
  • Staying up-to-date on changes in industry standards and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:A degree or HND in a relevant field, such as engineering, manufacturing, or quality management.
  • Experience:Experience in composite manufacturing, aerospace, defence or a related industry.
  • Knowledge:Knowledge of quality management systems, quality control techniques, and industry standards.
  • Skills:Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications:Certifications in quality management, such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
