A leading defense company in Maidenhead is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality team in the Cyber business. You will ensure that products and services meet the highest standards and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in quality management within the aerospace or defense sector and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. Qualifications

  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
  • Track record of process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Champion of continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing certification to AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.

Cyber (UK) Business

Position: Quality Manager

Ultra I&C's Cyber business seeks an experienced individual to join as Quality Manager. You will lead and manage the operational performance of the Quality team, ensuring products, services, and projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical lead for Quality activities across the Cyber business.
  • Develop and implement best practice Quality policies and processes.
  • Support ongoing certification to AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
  • Lead audits and inspections, ensuring timely closure of findings.
  • Oversee corrective actions and resolve non-compliance issues.
  • Report Quality metrics to senior leadership.
  • Design quality training programs and awareness initiatives.
  • Manage audits of production processes, products, and suppliers.
  • Advise leadership on quality concerns and process improvements.
  • Champion process standardization and ensure compliance with UK and customer standards.
  • Lead Quality management within the Cyber supply chain.
  • Oversee quality for Software, Firmware, and Hardware products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support delivery and strategy alignment.
  • Manage and mentor Quality Engineers.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Quality management experience in Aerospace/Defence industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably IFS).
  • Support for achieving compliance to AS 9100 and ISO9001 standards.
  • Implementing and maintaining QMS (BMS).
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
  • Proficient in data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Track record of process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Champion of continuous improvement methodologies.

Desirable:

  • Experience with APQP and PPAP methodologies.
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle and quality checkpoints.
  • Membership or progress towards CQI membership.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
