Job description

The Company
A leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team.

The Role
This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring that the quality of parts produced meets all customer expectations. It requires prompt and effective action when non-conformances are identified, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of quality system requirements, and ensuring documented practices align with quality management system standards.

Duties
– Lead the Quality Department and team.
– Implement and manage team KPIs.
– Develop, maintain, and oversee the quality management system.
– Analyze root causes of internal and external quality concerns.
– Communicate and reinforce the organisation's commitment to quality improvement.
– Determine when process stability and capability studies should be conducted, review and analyze results, recommend process changes, and verify their effectiveness.
– Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
– Facilitate problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
– Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Packing teams to resolve customer complaints.
– Lead PPM (Parts Per Million) improvement plans for key customers.
– Apply statistical techniques where appropriate.
– Conduct Measurement System Analysis using suitable tools.

The Candidate
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Experience with certified quality management systems (e.g., ISO).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proven track record of continuous quality improvement in manufacturing.
Experience working with OEM suppliers.
Customer quality assurance experience.
Previous audit experience.
Experience leading and managing a Quality Department.
Proficiency in 8D problem-solving disciplines.
Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Desirable
Experience in the electronics industry.
Technical knowledge of Surface Mount assembly processes.
Project management experience.
Certified Quality Engineer qualification.
Knowledge of hand soldering inspection.
PCB knowledge (desirable).
IPC knowledge, preferably IPC Class 3.
