Qualifications

Overview

Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading packaging equipment and consumables business that has an exciting new position for a Quality Manager to oversee all aspects of quality management within the organization and ensure that products, processes, and systems meet established standards of quality, reliability, and performance. You will lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.

  • Salary will be circa £55K to £60K + Bonus
  • 25 leave days + 8 bank holidays
  • Hybrid working (3 days at the Norfolk based site)
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead internal and external audits; coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and service teams to drive defect prevention, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee incoming inspection, in-process quality control, and final product inspection/testing.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics (e.g., defect rates, yield, customer complaints).
  • Collaborate with engineering on product design reviews, validation, and testing requirements.
Candidate Requirements
  • A relevant technical tertiary qualification
  • At least 4 to 6 years of experience in quality management within an industrial manufacturing environment (electronic and/or mechanical equipment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent certification desirable.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MES systems and quality management software.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier quality management, auditing, and CAPA
