The Quality Manager shall be responsible to the Site Manager for:
- The control and overview of all the company's ISO Management Systems such as EN9100/EN9110/ISO14001 and ISO45001, including their ongoing maintenance and development, and the company's Part 145 and Part 21G Approvals.
- Liaison with regulatory and certification bodies as required.
- Ensuring that the activities of the organization are monitored for compliance with applicable requirements and any additional requirements established by the organization, and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the nominated persons.
- Establishing an independent audit system to monitor compliance of the Part-145 organization with EASA/CAA/FAA requirements, with a properly implemented, maintained, and continually reviewed audit plan.
- Requesting corrections and corrective actions as necessary.
- Establishing regular meetings with the Accountable Manager to appraise the effectiveness of Compliance Monitoring, including addressing discrepancies and disagreements.
- Monitoring amendments to the organization’s procedures and standard practices (MOE, POE) for compliance with Part-145/21G and other regulatory requirements.
- Submitting MOE/POE and amendments to the competent authority for approval, including regulatory forms.
- Assessing providers of materials, standard parts, components, and contracted organizations for quality assurance.
- Assessing subcontractors under Compliance Monitoring to meet EASA standards.
- Issuing, renewing, or canceling CAA/EASA Part-145 / 21G Certifying Staff and Support Staff authorizations.
- Notifying the competent authority of maintenance/production activities outside approved locations.
- Managing safety and occurrence reporting systems, including internal investigations with the Operations Manager.
- Facilitating hazard identification, risk assessment, and management, ensuring safety training standards.
- Monitoring mitigation actions from the safety action plan.
- Providing periodic safety performance reports for review meetings.
- Supporting the audit function at Heathrow Controls site.
- Providing quality inspections / FAI in production matters.
- Experience
- Formal internal auditor training in ISO9001 (essential) and other standards like EN9100, EN9110, ISO14001, ISO45001 (preferred).
- Holding Lead Auditor Certification in one or more standards.
- Proven experience in a Quality Assurance Management Role, ideally within a Part 145/21G organization.
- Experience implementing and maintaining certified management systems to ISO9001/EN9100/EN9110, including ISO14001/45001.
- Experience conducting internal and external audits across multiple standards.
- Relevant technical qualifications in engineering with ability to interpret drawings and data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems in aviation/avionics environments.
- Training on aviation regulation preferred but not essential (training provided).
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint environment is preferable.
