Job Description

KFF are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent, Quality Manager to join the team based on site at our Aylesford depot, reporting to the Head of Distribution Quality Control.

As the Quality Manager you will oversee KFF wholesale distribution depot at Aylesford and a small manufacturing facility (4 people). It is your responsibility to ensure their compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene and legal requirements through implementation, monitoring and audits of a Quality Management System.

Please be advised that the expected start date for this role is 1st July 2025.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Maintain Salsa / STS certifications at the manufacturing site, with the goal of progressing from SALSA / STS to BRC Food Safety in due course.
  2. Maintain MSC / ASC and other 3rd party certifications.
  3. Maintain BRC Storage & Distribution certification for the Distribution site.
  4. Conduct internal audits of site against the QMS & BRC S&D Standard.
  5. Ensure the Approved Supplier List for products is maintained in line with the introduction of new suppliers and products, implementing a supplier audit programme based on risk assessment outputs from the Approved Supplier List.
  6. Approve new product codes for site introduced into the business following review and approval of supplier Due Diligence information, ensuring that product information for labelling is maintained for accurate finished product labelling.
  7. Support customer & regulatory visits / audits to sites, as required.
  8. Facilitate investigation of complaints & product non-conformance regarding technical issues.
  9. Ensure personnel are trained commensurate with their duties regarding food safety, quality, hygiene and legality.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you must hold a full clean Drivers Licence, ideally have a Food Science Technology degree (or equivalent), although not essential, and be HACCP and Internal Auditor/ Lead Auditor qualified. This is a great role for a Junior Quality Manager or Quality Manager looking to take the next step in their career within food produce. You must have demonstrable manufacturing experience and knowledge of all relevant food safety legislation, QMS, BRC standards and auditing. Excellent communication skills are key as you will be customer focused. You should be well organised, use effective project management skills, show tenacity and a desire to follow things through to completion, with strong planning and organisational skills, and a high attention to detail.
