QA Manager
Location: Coventry
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000

We are seeking a QA Manager to ensure our company adheres to Quality Assurance standards and meets all legal obligations related to food safety and legislation. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety attributes of our products, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with third-party agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the site QA function, including the laboratory, coaching, and mentoring the QA team and operatives to ensure the Food Safety and Quality Plans are met.
  • Coordinate and investigate customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Enforce company policies and manage compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety, and GMP standards.
  • Liaise with Operations and Engineering for continuous process improvements and new equipment trials.
  • Lead the Quality and Food Safety initiatives, aiming to reduce complaints, rejections, and product holds.
  • Coordinate daily taste panels and follow up on actions for sub-standard products.
  • Develop and manage training programs for the QA team to uphold world-class quality assurance standards.
  • Lead customer and third-party audits, presenting findings and defending traceability challenges.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene, Basic Health & Safety, and HACCP level 3 certifications.
  • A-Level education minimum; a Diploma or higher in a Food-related discipline is preferred.
  • Audit qualifications and significant experience with customer and third-party audits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong experience in the food industry, particularly in QA or related roles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize under pressure.
