Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality assurance/control.
  • Good working knowledge of GD & T (ANSI Y14.5 – 1994), SPC and ISO–9001-2000 standard.
  • 5 years management experience.

Job Description

This position is responsible for development and operation of quality assurance systems; application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures; the ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. Familiarity with quality cost concepts and techniques; the knowledge and ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure that all products meet all engineering and customer specifications
  • Coordinate all activities at the various Mark Andy facilities associated with achieving and maintaining ISO 9000 registration
  • Provide supervision for Quality Assurance Department personnel and assign personnel as required to meet workload demands
  • Analyze manufacturing, customer and vendor problems, make recommendations and implement corrective actions to eliminate future problems. Develop new techniques and approaches to dealing with quality problems
  • Prepare, audit and maintain plant quality assurance plans, procedures and specifications and establish quality standards for products and processes
  • Determine, specify and procure calibration, inspection and testing facilities and equipment and formulate inspection calibration and test procedures
  • Provide quality systems support for new products to assure the processes are adequate and that the design intent is met and objectively verified
  • Identify and resolve vendor/customer quality issues

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality assurance/control, or 5 to 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of GD & T (ANSI Y14.5 – 1994), SPC and ISO–9001-2000 standard.
  • ASQ certification
  • Internal Auditor Certification and Coordinate Measurement Machine operation a plus
  • Certified Quality Engineer a plus
  • Certified Quality Auditor a plus
  • 5 years management experience

Work Environment
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds.
