Job summary

A leading design and manufacturing firm in Canterbury is seeking an experienced Quality Manager. The successful candidate will manage the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO9001, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor the quality team. Candidates should possess extensive quality assurance experience and a strong engineering background. Competitive salary range is £50,000 to £55,000 per annum.

  • Strong engineering background preferably with HNC qualification.
  • Excellent strategic and methodical mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing the QMS in relation to ISO9001.
  • Leading Continuous Improvement across quality processes.
  • Training and mentoring staff within the quality department.

Overview

Location: Canterbury • Term: Permanent • Salary: £50,000-£55,000 per annum

My client are specialists in the design and manufacture a variety of products using a selection of different processes to a range of different industries in the Canterbury area. The successful candidate will have great knowledge of the ISO9001 standard and be experienced with developing and maintaining the Quality Management system. This may also suit a Senior Quality Engineer.

Qualifications / Attributes
  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance
  • Engineering background - preferably HNC qualified or equivalent work-based experience
  • Strategic and methodical mindset
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Good knowledge of ISO9001 standard
  • Aerospace industry experience is beneficial
  • Ensuring compliance to quality standards and procedures
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment or Six Sigma
  • Good problem-solving skills with use of RCA tools
  • Innovative, creative and good leadership qualities
Responsibilities
  • Developing and managing the QMS in relation to ISO9001

  • Streamlining quality processes and procedures
  • Liaising with a variety of departments and external stakeholders
  • Attending staff meetings
