Job Purpose

To manage and improve the Quality function and systems in accordance with the annual Operations and Quality objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSM).

Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Be an active member of the plant management team, leading by example as a change agent with strong coordination, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Manage the direct reporting of Quality Engineers and Technicians, including work priorities, annual personal development planning, and training.
  • Contribute to and drive the Bradford site’s quality vision at the regional level, cascading objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSM) into the site and individual reports through PPM.
  • Understand internal and external customer quality requirements, including inspection and test certification, and develop suitable value-driven metrics to verify performance improvements.
  • Maintain ISO and other relevant certifications for the site.
  • Continuously improve the site’s Quality Management System in alignment with regional and global directions to enhance value-added benefits to the business, promoting continuous improvement and sharing best practices.
  • Facilitate the resolution of quality problems through cross-functional team involvement using tools like 8D problem solving and lean six sigma methodologies as appropriate.
  • Coordinate customer and external audit/inspection body accreditation and relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to all company HSE policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • ISO internal auditor certification.
  • Practical knowledge of implementing and improving quality management systems.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and solution investigations.
  • Proficiency in document control.
  • Use of quality tools and techniques such as problem solving, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Leadership skills to guide a team through change.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Experience in internal and external lead audits.
  • Previous experience in a senior quality engineer role or similar.
  • Experience managing teams to improve quality in similar environments.
