Job summary

Clancy is seeking a permanent Water Quality Control Manager in the UK to lead quality assurance and compliance across major utilities projects. You will develop QA plans, conduct regular inspections and audits, and manage regulatory evidence for potable water materials throughout the project lifecycle.

You will lead quality workshops, collaborate with the Construction Management Team, and produce regular quality performance reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within utilities or construction.
• Ability to develop project quality assurance plans.
• Experience conducting inspections and audits.
• Knowledge of water infrastructure and quality standards (e.g., Regulation 31, WRAS).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a project quality assurance plan aligned with ISO 9001.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
• Maintain Regulation 31 register for potable water materials.
• Verify Regulation 31/WRAS/BS 6920 evidence where applicable.
• Draft and coordinate ITPs and water quality check sheets.
• Manage Health & Safety Files and As-Built documentation.
• Lead client and internal quality/compliance meetings.
• Chair quality workshops and support the Construction Management Team.
• Produce weekly and monthly quality performance reports.
• Manage the non-conformance process and close-out actions.
• Provide training and guidance to uphold quality standards.
• Maintain liaison with the Project Manager on QA activities.

Here are some of the key activities you'll be involved with...

• Develop a project quality assurance plan, accredited to ISO 9001
• Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a project Regulation 31 register covering all potable water-contact materials and products.
• Verify Regulation 31, WRAS, BS 6920 or other relevant potable water suitability evidence where applicable to the product or material.
• Drafting and coordinating Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and quality water check sheets.
• Managing Health & Safety Files and As-Built documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Leading and contributing to both client and internal quality and compliance meetings.
• Chairing quality workshops and supporting the Construction Management Team
• Producing weekly and monthly reports on quality performance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Managing the non-conformance process and overseeing timely close-out and implementation of lessons learned.
• Providing training, guidance, and support to ensure consistent quality standards are upheld across the team.
• Must be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance and to maintain effective liaison with the Project Manager.

We would love to hear from you if…

You have experience in a similar role, within the utilities or construction sectors, and are confident in developing project quality assurance plans, carrying out inspections, audits, and managing the full quality lifecycle of complex projects.

Having knowledge of water infrastructure, pipeline construction, and relevant quality standards and procedures will be preferred in this role.

You are proactive, methodical, and capable of influencing and guiding teams to meet high quality and compliance standards.

A relevant vocational qualification in construction, quality, or a related field is required, and any certifications in quality auditing or health & safety are highly desirable. Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills will help you thrive in this.
