What you will be doing

As our Quality Lead, you will lead on quality and compliance within Thornford Park Hospital, providing clear communication, direction, support, and active involvement in achieving the required standards and quality.

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will support various areas including developing systems, delivering and organizing training, and embedding changes to ensure the site meets all regulatory, clinical, quality, and corporate requirements.

You will liaise with senior leaders across Thornford Park regarding our regulatory compliance standards, contractual reporting, and our site Quality Improvement Plan. You will also manage a Quality and Compliance Coordinator.

As our Quality Lead, you will be:

  • Managing Thornford Park’s compliance with all contract standards, ensuring timely and quality information submissions and record-keeping.
  • Collaborating with colleagues at all levels, from HCAs and service users to senior management.
  • Leading with impact, including managing our audit schedule and working with colleagues to give audits meaningful outcomes.
  • Following up on actions, completing projects, and ensuring compliance with statutory requests and regulatory bodies.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across local health communities to improve clinical quality.
  • Ensuring and leading on the implementation of corporate, regional, and local policies and procedures.
  • Developing quality initiatives through governance systems and the quality improvement plan.
  • Driving quality improvement and serving as a role model in quality practices.
  • Line managing a Quality & Compliance Coordinator.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to interpret data and communicate its meaning to clinical colleagues.
  • Skills in training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Understanding of audits and audit processes.
  • Experience in completing compliance reports for external submission.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation and flexibility.
  • A positive, caring, and compassionate attitude.
  • A commitment to high-quality care, values, and evidence-based practice.

Where you will be working:

You will be based at Thornford Park, a 141-bed independent hospital supporting service users requiring medium and low secure forensic mental health services. The facility also includes a PICU Mental Health Service.

The service offers a seamless care pathway supporting recovery and rehabilitation, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide personalized assessment and treatment for males with mental illness/complex needs, personality disorders, and both males and females in a PICU setting.
