Job summary

JDRWales is recruiting for a Quality Laboratory Assistant to join a busy manufacturing site in Baglan. This hands-on role will help ensure products meet quality standards and provide data recording and QA support.

You will collect samples, perform routine mechanical testing, record results, maintain equipment, and support audits. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-focused and organised, with good IT/data-recording skills and a proactive safety mindset.

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

What will you be doing?

Your role will be varied, combining practical laboratory work with data recording and quality administration.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting product samples from different areas of the site
• Carrying out routine mechanical testing on finished products
• Conducting quality checks on raw materials and finished products in line with established procedures
• Accurately recording and maintaining quality test results and documentation
• Monitoring and maintaining laboratory testing and measuring equipment
• Analysing competitor products in accordance with defined procedures
• Supporting the Quality team with audits and wider quality activities
• Providing support to the Quality Manager/Line Manager as required
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety and quality procedures
• Contributing to a positive safety culture across the site
