Job Objective: Oversee the site Quality Control Laboratory team and Internal Audit program to ensure outgoing products are tested and inspected efficiently, effectively, and timely, meeting or exceeding business needs. Drive continuous improvement in quality systems compliance and audit-readiness. This role requires a proven leader with exceptional team management, people leadership, and communication skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Commitment to Safety
    • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Lead by example to promote a safety culture within the organization.
    • Report safety incidents or near-misses promptly and collaborate with EHS on investigations.
  • Quality Control
  • Manage daily testing and inspection activities in MHT Plastics and Textiles QC Laboratories, including job assignments and priorities.
  • Oversee Laboratory Standards processing.
  • Manage and develop QC Technicians, including cross-training and fostering teamwork.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency, flexibility, and throughput.
  • Report daily QC metrics, identify issues and opportunities.
  • Ensure QC lab compliance with ISO, IATF, industry, Velcro Companies, and customer requirements.
  • Organize QC Laboratory documentation, procedures, records, and databases, including global tools and applications.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Process Engineers to analyze failure trends and support investigations and improvements to reduce failures and scrap rates.
  • Manage MHT site Internal Audit Program, including recruiting, mentoring, scheduling, performing audits, and maintaining audit readiness.
  • Conduct special audits for problem investigations or external audits.
  • Provide feedback to Operations, Engineering, and Leadership to support investigations and improvements.
  • Oversee the implementation of the MHT Quality Calibration program.
  • Generate reports and summaries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • 5+ years in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Coaching and team-building experience.
  • 5+ years of Lead Auditor experience.
  • IATF 16949:2016 Auditor certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in metrics reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean methods.
  • Experience with ISO and other Quality System Standards.
  • Collaborative experience with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience with electronic Quality Data systems and tools.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with metrology equipment.
  • Expertise in Technical Documentation (specifications, drawings, standards, reports).
  • Knowledge of Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Experience working with Military, Automotive, and Medical industries.
  • Workplace organization / 5S.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification or experience.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Supervisor / Management training.
  • Proficiency with MS Access / Minitab.
