Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicester is recruiting a Quality Inspector Supervisor for weekend night shifts. You will lead a small team while conducting quality inspections, reading drawings with GD&T, and using CMM and manual gauges to ensure parts meet standards.

The role supports ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, requires hands-on inspection capability, and a focus on quality control during night hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector or Quality Engineer role.
• Experience within a machining or automotive manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of CMM inspection and dimensional measurement.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Experience using manual inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers and height gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality.
• The confidence to supervise and support a small team.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate CMM equipment and automated measurement software
• Carry out accurate dimensional inspections and interpret measurement reports
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
• Perform manual measurements using micrometers, verniers/calipers and height gauges
• Identify, document and manage non-conforming components
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Maintain accurate quality records and update BIANCA
• Ensure QA procedures are followed, including the management of rejects, rework and gauges
• Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the night shift
• Supervise and support a team of up to five machinists
• Ensure the team works safely and efficiently while meeting production and quality requirements

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector Supervisor - Nights and Weekends to join the weekend night shift team in Leicester.

This is a hands-on role combining quality inspection responsibilities with team supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring components meet customer and quality standards using both automated and manual inspection methods, while supporting compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

You will also supervise a team of up to five machinists, ensuring production and quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the shift.
