Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Inspector for a busy engineering and manufacturing environment in Port Talbot, Wales. You will perform in-process quality inspections, verify components against drawings, and help drive continuous improvement across production, quality and engineering teams.

You will record inspection data, manage QA documentation, maintain metrology equipment, and contribute to non-conformance resolution.

Qualifications

• Inspection experience.
• Experience using engineering measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Knowledge of pipe fittings, flanges and engineered components.
• An understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and production methods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Good computer literacy and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process quality inspections using hand-held metrology equipment.
• Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Verify the quality of pipe fittings, flanges and associated engineered products.
• Record, organise and evaluate inspection data, producing QA documentation and reports as required.
• Identify, report and support the resolution of non-conformances.
• Ensure inspection and testing equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve product quality and processes.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the business.
