Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Quality Inspector within our Materials Solutions business in Worcester. You will inspect complex components for gas turbine and aerospace applications using CMMs, 3D scanning, and precision measuring tools, ensuring adherence to exact specifications.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to identify improvements and support new inspection technologies and processes, contributing to high-quality engineering solutions across the energy

Qualifications

  • Experience in dimensional inspection and ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and specs.
  • Experience operating CMM equipment (Hexagon) using PC-DMIS and knowledge of 3D scanning (GOM Inspect).
  • Strong understanding of manual and computerized metrology, non-conformance, and quality management systems.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and familiarity with CAD software.
  • Experience inspecting castings, additive manufactured parts, or precision-machined components is advantageous.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Quality Inspector within our Materials Solutions business, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of components manufactured for the gas turbine and aerospace industries. Using advanced metrology equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), 3D scanning technology, and precision measuring tools, you'll inspect complex components against exact engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, you'll help identify opportunities for continuous improvement while supporting the development of new inspection technologies and quality processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge manufacturing technologies in a business that is shaping the future of advanced engineering.

What You Bring
  • Experience in dimensional inspection within a precision manufacturing environment, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience operating CMM equipment, ideally Hexagon CMMs using PC-DMIS, together with knowledge of 3D scanning technologies such as Zeiss GOM Inspect.
  • Strong understanding of manual and computerised metrology techniques, non-conformance management, and quality management systems.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and familiarity with CAD software. Experience inspecting castings, additive manufactured components, or precision-machined parts would be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and quality excellence.
  • A collaborative mindset with high attention to detail, integrity, and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
