Job description

My client based in Stonehouse, Gloucester is currently in need of a QC Inspector due to ongoing project expansions.

Job Summary:

Are you an experienced QC Inspector looking for a full-time, permanent opportunity with a reputable and growing manufacturer? Do you thrive in a quality-focused environment, with strong attention to detail and excellent knowledge of inspection processes and engineering standards?

My client are world leaders in design and manufacturing for the oil and gas, renewables, chemicals, and energy/power generation industries. They are a successful engineering business who is looking to add a skilled Quality Control Inspector to their team to support ongoing production and quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete inspections and quality assurance activities across goods-in, production, and despatch.
  • Inspect components and assemblies to contractual Inspection and Test Plans (I&TPs).
  • Manage the calibration of inspection instruments.
  • Perform CMM inspections using a FARO 3D Arm as well as traditional measurement techniques.
  • Record non-conformances and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and customer standards.
  • Conduct paint inspections (adhesion, thickness) and visual weld inspections.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a QC Inspection role within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of metrology, calibration, and use of CMM equipment (FARO Arm experience preferred).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards (API, ISO, PED, etc.).
  • Proven experience completing goods-in, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Experience inspecting machined, welded, and painted components.
  • Background in mechanical engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent preferred).
  • Quality-related certifications such as CSWIP 3.0 or PCN would be advantageous.
