Job summary

A leading aerospace components manufacturer in Royston seeks an Inspector to ensure conformity of parts by inspecting products in line with customer specifications and company quality systems. Candidates must have experience interpreting technical documentation, using measuring equipment, and effective English communication skills. Shift work may be required, and training on CMM/FARO arm is available for the right candidates.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively (written & verbal).
  • Flexible, as shift work may be required.
  • A working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts (WIP and final product) against requirements.
  • Use conventional inspection methods per inspection plans.
  • Raise non-conformance reports per the quality system.

Job Description

Purpose of Role:

  • Ensure conformity of parts by inspecting product in accordance with the customer drawings, company’s quality system and relevant customer specification and standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of parts (WIP and final product), and associated paperwork against the applicable requirements and configuration at the relevant stages in the manufacturing process.
  • Use of conventional inspection methods and in accordance with the inspection plans.
  • Carry out inline process and product inspections throughout the factory
  • Raise non-conformances reports in accordance with the quality system
  • Support in problem solving activities within the company’s continuous improvement program
  • Actively participate in safety improvement activities
  • Perform all reasonable requests made by management

Key Requirements:

Essential

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation (drawings, specifications and procedures)
  • Experience in using standard measuring equipment (I.E. caliper, micrometer, gauges etc.)
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively (written & verbal)
  • Flexible, as shift work may be required
  • Good computer literacy
  • Results-focused
  • Willingness to learn new skills

Desirable

  • A working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100
  • CMM or/and FARO arm experience (Willing to train the right candidate)
