Quality Inspector – Aerospace Precision Engineering

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: circa £35k, dependent on experience

A precision engineering business in Greater Manchester is looking to appoint a Quality Inspector to join its close-knit quality team. This company manufactures complex aluminium components for aerospace customers, supplying both strategic long-term contracts and urgent AOG requirements. With a strong reputation for quality and delivery, they offer a stable and technically engaging work environment.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you’ll be responsible for the dimensional inspection of precision-machined aerospace components.

You’ll work with a range of manual inspection tools including micrometers, verniers, calipers, and gauges, alongside operating a PC-DMIS CMM (no programming required). The work involves interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications to ensure compliance with tight tolerances and GD&T requirements.

The Person

We’re looking for a skilled Quality Inspector with experience inspecting precision-machined components, ideally within aerospace or similar regulated sectors. You’ll have strong working knowledge of GD&T, a good eye for detail, and confidence reading technical drawings.

This is a hands-on role in a busy environment, so a proactive attitude and good communication skills are essential.
