  • Perform evaluations and inspections of machined products.

  • Liaise with internal departments for quality delivery.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and management.

Skills

Job description
Overview

Quality Inspector — Location: Tameside. Salary: £17.58 per hour + Overtime (Potential to earn £45,000+ per annum with overtime). Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:45am – 17:00pm; Friday 07:45am – 10:45pm. Benefits: 25 Days Holiday + 8 Statutory Days; Onsite Parking; Pension Scheme.

Responsibilities
  • Perform formal evaluations and inspections of machined products at various stages (first-off, patrol, and final inspections) to ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
  • Accurately record all measurements and inspection checks.
  • Identify and respond to quality issues as they arise.
  • Report quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assess feasibility of rework and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Liaise with internal departments to promote the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and accept constructive feedback from management.
Qualifications
  • Fully time-served engineer
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in using manual measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges
  • Ability to reverse engineer and create detailed reports from samples
  • Experience in completing customer documentation
  • Familiar with the control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment per company procedures
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Skilled in producing clear, concise written reports
  • Capable of working to both company and customer quality plans
