Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of 5S/6S, Kaizen, Pareto, and other quality tools.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct inspections using appropriate measuring devices.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance quality and process improvements.

Skills

Experience working to ISO 9001
Understanding of Quality and Process management tools
Experience using CMM or Faro Arm devices
Ability to read technical drawings

Education

BTech/HNC/HND level in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline

Quality Inspector
Hailsham, East Sussex

Main duties/responsibilities of the role:

Essential skills and experience

  • Experience working to ISO 9001.
  • At least 3 years experience working in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment and possess a good understanding of Quality and Process management tools and methodology. Examples including 5S/6S, flowcharts, VSM, Kaizen, Pareto, QCPC, SPC, AQL, FMEA, 8D, Cause & Effect, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc.
  • Experience of using CMM or Faro Arm devices and proficient with a range of metrology equipment typically used in machine shop environments.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and engineering specifications.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of working in the vacuum industry would be advantageous.

Qualified to BTech/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
