Job summary

ALPLA Group is hiring a Quality Inspector at our Golborne site. You will be part of the Quality department performing quality control checks and containing defects during production.

Duties include providing defect test pieces, recording data in CAQ, and supporting material or colour changes in the laboratory when needed. The role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication of results.

Qualifications

• Previous role within a Quality / Compliance / Testing position within a manufacturing environment – ideally with laboratory based analytical testing
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving
• Knowledge of food safety policies and standards

Responsibilities

• Attend shift handovers and communicate current quality status and open fault notes
• Provide and verify defect test pieces for production lines and ensure return at end of run
• Confirm specifications and documentation are correctly completed

Job description

What You Will Enjoy Doing

Working as part of the Quality department to conduct quality control checks and identify and contain product defects during production.

• Attends the shift handover meetings communicating the current situation and status of current open non-conformance (fault notes & isolations) which they have been involved in during the shift


• Supply and verify the correct defect test pieces to production lines and ensure they are collected back at the end of a production run.


• Confirm the appropriate specifications and documentation is in place and being completed correctly.


• Accurately record data in the electronic quality databases system (CAQ) - Where failings are identified escalates to Management for investigation before the end of the shift.


• Conduct laboratory based analytical testing, as required to support material or colour changes during evenings


• To carry out diligently those duties as requested by the management in accordance with good Health and Safety and quality and food safety practices.


• To ensure that laboratory and Quality station housekeeping is of the highest standard at all times.


• To perform any other duties in connection with the job that may, from time to time be reasonably required and which are consistent with the "Main Purpose of the job".
