Job Description

Our client are an innovative company, manufacturing critical precision components to exacting quality standards for the aerospace & defence industries.



We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Inspector, to join our team based in the south side of Glasgow. The function of the role is to ensure that all inspection functions, including set up and operations of CMMs are carried out in an efficient and effective manner; liaise with production personnel on drawing interpretation and highlight critical dimensions; and ensure that any defect components are progressed through appropriate processes as quickly as possible.


The role is predominately a Monday to Friday day shift (39 Working hours with flexibility) Some night shift when required with a 33% shift allowance

Role Description



  • Goods in, First Off, Running, Pre & Post Subcon, and Final Inspection.

  • Maintain inspection records.

  • Process non-conforming product in a timely manner.

  • Support First Article Inspection Report (FAIRs)

  • Check and calibrate Measurement Equipment.

  • Process customer returns.

  • Proficiency in first principal inspection methods.

  • Observe Castle Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.

  • Liaise effectively with other members of the department and the company.

  • Maintain and support 6S activities in inspection areas.

  • Support Castle's Zero Defects (ZD) activities.



Essential Experience & Qualities



  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

  • CMM awareness - setting, interpretation & reporting

  • Equipment calibration

  • Manual measuring equipment

  • Manual handling incl. usage of slings and lifting equipment

  • Problem solving tools

  • Computer literacy

  • HSE awareness

  • AS 9100 awareness

  • Continuous improvements



Desirable Experience



  • Auditing experience in a similar environment

  • Critical parts awareness

  • Aerospace production knowledge

  • PCDMIS awareness

  • CMM experience
