Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a Quality Inspector. The role involves ensuring components meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications. You will rotate across three quality areas to develop comprehensive QC knowledge.

The candidate should read engineering drawings, use precision measuring equipment, calibrate gauges, and demonstrate strong maths, organisation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Be able to use a range of specialist measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, gauges, x-ray, clock and RA testers.
• Experience calibrating equipment and gauges.
• Strong mathematical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure components are produced to the highest standard and meet customer requirements.
• Verify dimensions against customer requirements.
• Sign off first-offs to allow the production run to continue.
• Carry out goods-in inspection for materials and components.
• Inspect components before dispatch for distribution.
• Record non-conforming products and highlight patterns.
• Identify reasons for non-conformances and suggest improvements.
• Assist with calibration of equipment.

The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that components are produced to the highest quality, and in line with customer specifications. You will be rotated between the three quality areas to build up all-round knowledge of the QC procedures across the business.

Key responsibilities would be to

• Sign off first-offs so that the Setter/Operator can continue the production run.
• Carry out goods-in inspection for materials and components.
• Inspect components before being send to dispatch for distribution.
• Record non-conforming products and highlight patterns.
• Identify reasons for non-conformances and suggestions improvements.
• Assist with the calibration of equipment.

Experience and skills required
