Overview

Inspecting Quality as a QI offers within a specialised precision machine shop in Rugby, Warks. Responsibilities

The Quality Inspector/QI role is challenging and rewarding, with a focus on tight tolerance components across a wide range of sizes—from tiny 0.5mm diameter turned parts to larger milled items up to 800mm x 400mm. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all products meet stringent specifications through precise measurements and visual inspections. Supporting daily quality operations, you’ll work closely with engineering teams, conduct First Off and batch inspections, and help maintain high standards of quality assurance. This position offers ample scope for technical development and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives, all within a stimulating manufacturing environment.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within Precision Engineering, specialising in tight tolerance components
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques and metrology tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
  • Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Experience in performing First Off and Batch Inspection in a precision manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, particularly AS9100 2016 Rev;D
  • Excellent communication skills for clear reporting, documentation, and teamwork
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
