Wright Staff Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quality Inspector for a full-time role in Worcestershire. You will perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections, verify compliance with drawings, and support FAI and NCR processes to ensure production meets high quality standards.

You will work closely with management to keep production flowing, drive improvements, and deliver parts fit for defence and critical industries, with on-site facilities and a modern quality environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality inspection and/or technician role.
  • Confident with use of precision measuring equipment (verniers, height gauges, multi-axis measurement arms).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and comply with ISO 9001/AS9100-type standards.

Responsabilités

  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision metrology equipment.
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications and customer quality requirements.
  • Complete and support First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and NCRs.
  • Maintain inspection and calibration records; drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with management to maintain throughput and address bottlenecks.
  • Train shop-floor personnel on quality requirements and standards.

Salary £13.40-£16.64 per hour

Job description

We are a trusted manufacturer, suppling into the Defence sector supply chain, and we are seeking experienced and driven Quality Inspector to join our team in Worcestershire. In this role, you will perform inspection activities, support managers in solving production challenges, and make sure every product meets the highest standards. Your work will directly support projects that matter; from National Defence, and other industries which rely on safety-critical products and components.

As a Quality Inspector, you will be making sure the parts we manufacture and procure are as they should be, from first-off inspection to final verification.

Your role will include
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision metrology equipment including: verniers, height-gauges, multi-axis Measurement Arms
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements
  • Complete and support First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
  • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and investigate customer concerns
  • Maintain accurate inspection and calibration records in line with national standards
  • Driving continuous improvement across the business
  • Assist management with:
    • Maintaining production throughput, meeting customer demand
    • Identifying and addressing 'bottlenecks' affecting smooth operations
    • Training shop-floor personnel on quality requirements and standards
Skills
  • Experience in a quality inspection and / or technician role
  • Confident with selection and use of measuring equipment i.e., verniers, height gauges, multi-axis Measurement Arm
  • Ability to interpret technical / engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of management systems, i.e., ISO 9001, 3834, AS 9100 (AS9102), or other
  • Appreciation and awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental practices
  • A confident communicator who can work well with managers, customers, and colleagues
  • Someone with a keen eye for detail
