Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quality Inspector in Alcester for a manufacturer of high-precision metal components. The role is full-time with a salary of £35,000–£37,000 per year.

You will perform first and final inspections using 3D optical scanners and CMM, and you will maintain inspection records. You will read engineering drawings, raise non-conformances, liaise with engineering teams on new product transitions, and complete FAIR packs.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; CAD knowledge is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail; teamwork oriented.

Overview

The Quality Inspector position in Alcester involves performing inspection operations for a manufacturer of high‑precision fabricated and machined metal components serving the aerospace, defence, and power generation sectors. This is a full‑time role with a salary of £35,000–£37,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection operations using 3D optical scanners and manual techniques for first and final inspections.
• Populate the inspection database with relevant dimensions.
• Sentence (record) parts inspected using optical equipment (Keyence, Scan, OGP) and CMM.
• Support the internal non‑conformance process by raising rejects and ensuring containment.
• Liaise with engineering teams to facilitate new product transitions.
• Complete FAIR packs as required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards; prior QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and product drawings; CAD knowledge is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail; good teamwork.
• Desirable: experience in the aerospace industry.
• Shift pattern: Late shifts – Monday to Wednesday 16:30–02:30; Thursday 16:30–13:30.
