Overview

Job Title: Quality Inspector (Pre-Delivery Inspection)

Location: Barton Under Needwood

Duration: 6 Months

Hours: Mon - Thurs 7am to 4pm, Fri 8am - 1pm

Own transport highly recommended due to site location.

Our engineering client based in Barton Under Needwood are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector for an initial 6 months.

Role

Acting as the final quality gate, you will carry out the Pre-Delivery Inspection requirements on train-related components and finished goods. You will ensure reports are well maintained and documented, and you will work within the Quality team for business needs and priority.

Key responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections on completed jobs to ensure they meet specification and customer expectations
  • Maintain and verify production records to ensure they are completed correctly
  • Random outgoing product inspection & report to Quality
  • Liaise with internal customers regarding rejects or quality issues
  • Maintain & improve 5S standard in Quality Inspection area
  • Adhere at all times to the company\'s Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements
  • Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee\'s skills and abilities. Quality Inspectors may be asked to carry out the basic QE responsibilities as per business needs.
Background & Experience
  • Proficient with using a multitude of test and precision measuring equipment, as well as manual hand tools such as torque wrenches, micrometer, Vernier caliper, etc.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Capability of reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings
  • Organised – able to manage multiple issues
  • IT literate and conversant with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
  • Resilient temperament & customer focused
  • Able to work autonomously

Work closely with other Quality Inspectors & Engineers to feedback on issues

Reports to Production Quality Manager.

Qualifications/Education Required
  • Numerate and literate to GCSE standard
  • Experience in the rail industry preferred
  • Preferably minimum 2-3 years\' experience on inspection of measuring engineering components
  • Auditing experience to ISO 9001 advantageous
