Job summary

PSM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure components meet customer specifications and quality standards. The role involves rotating through the three quality areas to gain broad QC knowledge.

You will verify dimensions, inspect goods inwards, record non-conformances and assist with 8D investigations. Daily duties include supporting calibrations and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the QC area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• To ensure that components produced are of the best quality.
• To ensure that components produced are correct to customer specifications.
• To verify dimensions.
• Check first offs that the setter or operator require second checking.
• To carry out goods inwards inspection of material and components received from suppliers.
• Inspect components before they are sent out to customer.
• Record non-conforming products.
• Create plans to improve product quality.
• Identify causes for non conformance and then work to improve the product quality and discuss recommended actions at any 8D investigation meetings.
• Assist with the calibration of company equipment as required.
• To ensure that you are working to the correct methods.
• To be responsible for the control of Health & Safety and cleanliness in the area.
• Attend daily tier meetings.
• Assist with customers/visitors if required.
• If required visit customers to assist with sorting non-conforming product.

Job description

PSM Recruitment is looking for a Quality Inspector. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that components produced are of the best quality and correct to customer specifications. You must be prepared to move around the company's three quality areas to build up an all-round knowledge of QC procedures for this position.

The Quality Department is focused on ensuring that all work produced by the different sections in the company meets the agreed company quality standards and fully complies with the clients' drawings and other special instructions provided with the order. The aim of the Quality Department is to ensure that all customers receive high-quality product and that we meet delivery performance targets.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• The ability to use a range of specialist measuring equipment i.e. - Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Slip Gauges, X-Ray, Clock & Stand, Depth Micrometer and RA Tester
• Calibration of equipment and gauges
• A good understanding of maths
• Attention to detail
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Problem solving ability

Hours of Work: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00, Fridays 08:00 - 13:00)
