Job Description Quality Control Inspector

Greater Boston - North Shore area

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be essential in ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality standards before they reach our customers. Working closely with production teams, you will inspect materials, parts, and finished goods for accuracy and adherence to specifications. This role requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your efforts will directly impact our commitment to delivering high-quality products and maintaining customer satisfaction. This position has a path for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Review product blueprints and specifications to ensure all quality requirements are met throughout the production process.
  • Document inspection results, record deviations or defects, and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Perform first article inspections and provide feedback to production, supply chain, and engineering teams.
  • Identify non-conforming materials or products, segregate, and report them for corrective action.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with production staff to ensure proper understanding and adherence to quality procedures and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions per company procedures.
  • Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment for measurement accuracy.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure all quality control activities are conducted safely and compliantly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in quality control or related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in manufacturing or fabrication.
  • Familiarity with quality control methods, standards, and inspection techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document defects or non-conformances accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting inspection results.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards and procedures.
